I recently, on one of my daily travels round Tintagel, came upon the spirit of a witch.

She greeted me firstly with the enchanting smell of incense, then I felt an intruder. Firstly I wondered if it might be the spirit of one of my deceased friends or relatives, but this presence was alien to me, I immediately asked " who is this" and was met with the name "Hazel" as the reply.  I proceeded, "I do not wish to cause you harm, or invade your sacred space" , " I only wish to live in harmony, living my own life, proceeding along my own pathway"  I sent her love, and continued on my journey. I immediately then saw a crow, settle next to me, then fly away, I wonder if this was her familiar?

Cornwall is well know for its witchcraft, and it wasn't unusual for a witch to mark her territory. In olden days if a black cat crossed your pathway, it was perceived as bad luck, and that a witch had marked you with a curse.   I see that some parts of Tintagel have been marked territory of witches, and I respect this.   I came across this website, its very interesting. Cornish Witches

Boscastle is well know for its Museum of witchcraft, next time you visit Cornwall, do visit the museum, its fascinating! Witchcraft Museum
